Puppetry Projects at Seattle Children’s Theatre, 2006-2007 Season

 

Douglas will be working on four of SCT’s seven shows in the upcoming season – as the Puppet Designer for two of them, and building and coaching/puppet-directing for all four of them:

 

JASON AND THE GOLDEN FLEECE

October 13 – November 26, 2006

 

Douglas will be working on the build for several different creatures in this production, and will be coaching the actors who will operate these puppets.

 

THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE

December 1, 2006 – January 27, 2007
World Premiere Musical

 

Douglas will be designing, building, and coaching on puppets and special effects for this production.

 

GOODNIGHT MOON

January 12 - March 10, 2007
World Premiere Musical

 

This production will feature a number of the well-recognized objects from the popular book as characters – actors will portray some of these characters, and some will be puppets, including the kittens, mouse, clocks, bears, and lamps.  Douglas will be designing and building these and other puppets, and directing puppet sequences in the play. 

 

EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT A DRAGON LOOKS LIKE
Adapted by Bret Fetzer
Based on the book by Jay Williams
Directed by Rita Giomi
March 23 – May 12, 2007
World Premiere

 

Four actors in this production will play all of the characters, all of which will be either puppets or masks.  Douglas will be building puppets and coaching the actors on the puppet and mask sequences.  Douglas is also understudying for the two male actors in the show.
